Intern wanted!

Intern wanted image

Team Evolve is searching for someone with an interest in Search to contribute to the team as an Internet Marketing intern.

About us:

We’re a digital marketing agency that focuses on SEO, PPC, content strategy, outreach, and beer. Our office is located in Maplewood and has some exceptional character, just like everyone on Team Evolve. One thing that makes us different from a lot of other SEO or SEM firms is that we put a strong emphasis on educating our clients, rather than just doing the work for them and sending over the results.

We have fun, but we also get shit done. This is a PAID internship, so we’re only interested in applicants that impress us.

Welcome to the team, Marvin!

Hey everyone!

Marvin, Evolve's Fall intern
My name is Marvin Saccucci. Originally, from Toledo, OH, I’ve been a bit of a nomad having lived in cities such as Milwaukee, WI, Cincinnati, OH, and even Madrid, Spain. I’m currently a Senior at St. Louis University studying both Marketing and Economics. Past jobs have included work at my neighborhood soccer store and internships with both a corporate security company and a bar soap manufacturing company. Realizing that I didn’t see my 150 pound self working as a body-guard, or wanting to come out of the office every day smelling like cleaning products, I decided to instead put my Marketing degree to use here at Evolve Digital Labs.

Nonetheless, at St. Louis University I’m involved in a number of different clubs and organizations. First and foremost I am a member of the Service Leadership Program through the John Cook School of Business. This program is something that I’m very proud of as it has required me to complete 300 hours of community service in addition to attending 24 leadership workshops. The majority of my hours have come from working with the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program, Habitat for Humanity, and even a project where I spent two months doing volunteer construction work in Pisco, Peru. Find Your Link Building Niche

Written by Ian Miller, one of Evolve’s summer interns

This week I have been working almost exclusively on link building for our clients. While this process can sometimes feel overwhelming, it is unbelievably important to the search engine optimization process, as Emily explains in her article, Link Building 101. Although this process can seem straight forward, there is some legwork to be done before your emails can be sent out.

How Visuals Can Sell Your Blog Post

Boring Blog Post vs. Engaging Blog Post

Written by Ian Miller, one of Evolve’s summer interns

Imagine that you have the option of reading a textbook that provides complicated statistics in paragraph form or viewing an image that shows a graphic analysis of the same stats. Which would you choose? While each might have its own advantages, the majority of us would go with the infograph over the text.

Introducing our summer interns!

This summer, Evolve is fortunate to have an extra boost of brainpower. We’ve hired two summer interns to manage and implement projects of their own. It’s our hope that when they leave us in August, both Ian and Emily (oh yes, a second Emily!) will have some solid success stories to add to their blooming portfolios.

Let’s get to know these interns!

Assembling the Ultimate Glossary

The Ultimate SEO Glossary

I have found that SEO is a difficult concept to grasp for those who are totally new to it. For example, I have had numerous people approach and ask me about my work this summer. Usually when I mention SEO, I get a confused as they wait for a description. Describing SEO to beginners is no easy task (although Emily does a fantastic job in The SEO Guide for Beginners.) It takes a fair amount of SEO background information before arriving at an explanation of my job in the office.

One of my tasks here at Evolve is assembling an “Ultimate Glossary” of SEO terms. Although building a list of terms doesn’t sound like the most exciting work, I find it has been very valuable to my own comprehension of SEO. They say that the best way to learn something is to teach it, so the combination of learning new terms and then preparing them for others benefits me twofold. In addition, being new to the industry allows me to define terms in a way that is easy to grasp. Continue reading →

The World of SEO: A Novice’s Perspective

As of two weeks ago, the term “Search Engine Optimization” did not mean much to me. I knew it involved search engines and the desire to produce higher page rankings. What I didn’t realize is the amount of effort and energy that goes into building connections and maintaining a healthy flow of good content.

The world of SEO is like anything new in life; you don’t get to the top without starting somewhere near the bottom. A combination of longevity and great content builds trust and creates traffic, two of Google’s best friends. Continue reading →
